Located between the existing Hillview (DT3) and Beauty World (DT5) stations on the DTL, the new Hume (DT4) station will serve existing residential developments along Hume Avenue, with nearby residents being able to enjoy time savings when travelling on the line.

“For instance, residents travelling from Hume will be able to reach Downtown in around 30 minutes on DTL, saving up to 15 minutes of travel time.”

Hume station, which will open for passenger service on Feb 28 at 3pm, was previously expected to open in the second quarter of 2025.

LTA said the station, located along Upper Bukit Timah Road, will also provide more convenient access to the Rail Corridor (Central) and Former Ford Factory. Hume station was the only one on DTL stage 2 (DTL2) to have not been opened for passenger service.

The station shell of Hume station was completed as part of DTL2, opened in December 2015, and works to fit out the station began in January 2021, said LTA. Rail operator SBS Transit is conducting operational testing in preparation for passenger service on Feb 28.

Hume station will have two entrances: one facing Upper Bukit Timah Road and the other facing Hume Avenue. To enhance first-and-last-mile connectivity to the station, sheltered walkways have been constructed linking nearby bus stops and pick-up/drop-off points.

LTA said: “The station will also accommodate 60 bicycle parking lots near the entrances for active mobility users,” adding that the station has achieved the Building and Construction Authority (BCA) Green Mark Gold certification for using green features.

Such green features include a rooftop with solar panels and energy-efficient lighting, and also a hybrid cooling system, similar to what was used at the new Punggol Coast (NE18) station on the North East Line (NEL), which recently opened on Dec 10, 2024.

DTL will have 35 operational stations when Hume station opens on Feb 28. The upcoming DTL stage 3 extension (DTL3e), which extends from Expo (DT35) station to Xilin (DT36) and Sungei Bedok (DT37) stations, will be operational in the second half of 2026.

Earlier this month, LTA announced DTL stage 2 extension (DTL2e), which extends the DTL by two stops beyond Bukit Panjang (DT1) station to connect with the North-South Line (NSL) at a future Sungei Kadut (NS6) interchange station. It will be completed by 2035.
