LTA said in a Facebook update on Dec 9 that EWL train services at Tanah Merah, Simei, Tampines, Pasir Ris, Expo, and Changi Airport stations will resume on Dec 10, from the start of passenger service hours.

It added that it has completed comprehensive testing, including safety and ultrasonic tests on the tracks, power supply and train signalling systems.

“We’re grateful for the more than 500 LTA and public transport operator staff, contractors, and crowd marshalls who’ve been working tirelessly since Dec 7 to replace and test the tracks, and assist commuters on the ground.”

Separately, Transport Minister Chee Hong Tat said on Facebook: “I am glad that track works between Tanah Merah and Tampines stations on the EWL and rigorous testing have been completed today, one day ahead of schedule. Regular train service will resume tomorrow.”

Mr Chee thanked the public transport workers and staff for their hard work over the past three days, including engineers, technicians and workers who were laying the tracks around the clock and doing thorough planning and testing.

Since Saturday, shuttle train services have been operating at 5-min intervals between Tampines and Pasir Ris stations, 8-min intervals between Tanah Merah and Expo stations, and 11-min intervals between Expo and Changi Airport stations.

Shuttle bus service ‘Shuttle 7’, which also runs between Tampines, Simei, and Tanah Merah stations, operates at a frequency of 3-5 minutes and will follow the same fare structure as trains.
