The SGTrains Team is encouraged by the response and support the community has given since the launch of Spotters by SGTrains.

We heard your feedback and are constantly ideating and evaluating possibilities to incorporate them into the system.

That said, we are pleased to announce the following.

New Feature: Run Number for Train Spotting

Based on the feedback received, we have identified suggestions to concurrently submit the Run Number when spotting trains.

With that, we will introduce the new Run Number field for Train Spotting data.

What is a Run Number?

The Run Number is a 3-digit reference number used to identify the schedule for a train, relative to the daily schedule structure for a train line.

Each train is assigned a unique Run Number, which can be identified through the display on the top-left or top-right of the train’s head.

Frequently Asked Questions

What if I cannot identify the Run Number? Can I still submit my spotting?

Taking into consideration that it can be difficult to identify the Run Number at times, input is optional and you may leave it out when submitting a spotting.

What kind of validation will be done by the system?

The system will check if the Run Number consists of 3 digits and is prefixed with a ‘T’.

Upcoming features & Expansion to other train lines

We are currently evaluating feedback and are working on fine-tuning the system before processively expanding it to other train lines.

Aside from train spotting, the development for more spotting categories is in the pipeline.
