LTA said in a Facebook post on Thursday (Feb 10) that the improved toilets will receive several enhancements.

The improved toilets will receive upgrades to their ventilation and better safety for commuters with anti-slip floor tiles.

In addition, to ensure energy and water efficiency, the improved toilets will also feature energy-efficient lighting and water-saving taps.

Refurbishment works to begin in Feb 2022, expected to complete in 2024

Starting from Feb 18, 2022, Yishun MRT station and Raffles Place MRT station along the North-South Line (NSL) will be the first two MRT stations to begin refurbishment works.

LTA estimates that toilets undergoing upgrades “will be closed for around 2.5 months on average”, and will complete all refurbishment works in the third quarter of 2024.

“During this refurbishment, our station staff will direct commuters who require the toilet to the neighbouring malls, buildings or adjacent stations,” added SMRT.
