This decommissioned Siemens C651 train will be having a new lease of life and purpose with the Singapore Police Force (SPF).
Built in the early-90s, the SPF will be utilising this 27-year-old train for training purposes.

Siemens C651

The Siemens C651 (SIE) trains are the second generation of rolling stock for the North-South Line (NSL) and East-West Line (EWL).
The SIE trains were bought to complement with the opening of the Woodlands extension and entered service on 2 May 1995.
The increase in rail length meant that more trains are needed to maintain train frequencies.

Repurposed for Training with the Singapore Police Force
In a Facebook post by the Land Transport Authority (LTA) on Saturday (Aug 21), a second generation SIE train for the NSL and EWL will be repurposed by the SPF for training purposes.
Trainspotters have observed that trainset 229/230 were the ones handed over to the SPF.
