The End of the Siemens C651

In the early hours of Sunday morning, 6 September 2020, a local trainspotter spotted a decommissioned Siemens C651 train EMU 203/204 parked outside the scrapyard in Tuas.

Although it was not announced that the Siemens C651 trains were due for decommissioning, these trains were supposed to be undergoing their mid-life refurbishment works. However, the refurbishment works were discontinued in 2018.

In June 2020, the decommissioning of the first generation Kawasaki Heavy Industries C151 trains officially commenced, but it was not announced that the Siemens C651 were included in the contract for decommissioning.
