It added that commuters travelling from Paya Lebar to Mountbatten will “enjoy faster access to the retail and office centres in the HarbourFront area.”
“Those in the west such as Pasir Panjang and Kent Ridge can also have a direct route to the Central Business District,” it mentioned.
CCL Circle Line Is Now A Complete Circle
Tunnelling works for the CCL6 began in 2019, with the utilisation of three Tunnel Boring Machines (TBMs).
The first stretch from Keppel MRT station to HarbourFront MRT station was completed in August 2020, followed by the stretch from Keppel MRT station to Cantonment MRT station, which was completed in July 2021.
This final stretch of works from Prince Edward Road MRT station to Cantonment MRT station was completed on Jan 12, 2022, thus closing the loop – signifying a complete *circle* for the CCL.
