Throughout the year 2021, the Land Transport Authority (LTA) has artistically and uniquely themed several MRT trains and stations.

1. Gracious Commuting Campaign
The Thoughtful Bunch mascots, first featured in 2014, were displayed in a themed MRT train carriage in January 2021, to promote thoughtful and gracious commuting on the public transport network.

2. Chinese New Year Festivities
To usher in the Year of the Ox for Chinese New Year, several MRT trains and stations were brightly themed for the festive occasion in February 2021.
Not only does it feature the highly-used pun of Happy Niu (牛) Year, it also features iconic motifs such as golden ingots, red packets, pineapples and mandarin oranges.

3. Hari Raya Festivities
For Hari Raya in May 2021, several MRT trains were themed for the festive occasion, in a collaboration between LTA and the Gelang Serai Constituency Office.
Several fun facts about the Hari Raya tradition were also included in this thematic display.

4. National Day Celebrations
In August 2021, several MRT trains and stations were strikingly themed for National Day, in both red and white colours.
This thematic display features artistic concepts of NDP 2021 and various QR codes for commuters to scan and learn more about the celebrations, available on the NDP website.

5. Deepavali Festivities
For Deepavali in November 2021, several MRT trains and stations were themed for the festive occasion, in a collaboration between LTA and the Little India Shopkeepers & Heritage Association.
Symbolic Deepavali motifs such as Rangoli, diya lamps and peacocks were featured in the thematic displays.

6. Christmas Festivities
For the year-end festivities, several MRT trains were decked out in decorations for Christmas in December 2021.
This thematic display also promotes caring & gracious behaviours and thanksgiving when travelling on the public transport network.
