System Renewal Works on Bukit Panjang LRT

Upgrading of Operations Control Centre

LTA said the adjustments to operating hours for the BPLRT are necessary to facilitate the upgrading of the LRT line’s Operations Control Centre (OCC).

Works include migrating to an interim OCC to allow the existing OCC to be upgraded, as well as transitioning back to the upgraded OCC when works are completed in three years’ time.

The existing OCC, which has been in operation since 1999, controls and monitors the signalling, power supply and communications systems as well as station facilities.

The OCC upgrading works are “being carried out in phases to minimise inconvenience to commuters”.

Changes in Operating Hours for Bukit Panjang LRT

There will also be a full-day closure on Oct 1, 2023, to facilitate the migration to the interim OCC, and an additional shuttle bus service will be provided along the LRT Service B route.

Commuters can take existing bus services along Bukit Panjang and Choa Chu Kang during the affected periods to continue their journey.

These include bus services 67, 171, 920, 922, 960, 963, 972, 972M, 973, 974 and 976.
