Commuters travelling on the North-South and East-West lines (NSEWL) can look forward to taking the upgraded C151B train – fitted with smarter and improved systems to boost rail reliability and commuter comfort – as it returns to passenger service on Jun 21, 2026.
The first of 44 new MRT trains for the upcoming Cross Island Line (CRL) has arrived in Singapore, the Land Transport Authority (LTA) announced on May 31.
In late October this year, rail operator SMRT announced on social media that it took delivery of its first upgraded 5th-gen C151B train for the North-South, East-West lines (NSEWL) with new proof-of-concept reliability-centred features.
A proof of concept trial featuring the latest reliability-centred capabilities will be carried out on a 5th-gen C151B train operating on the North-South and East-West MRT lines (NSEWL).
